Pilates Master Blossom Leilani Crawford Workshops
Open to All Pilates Teachers & Enthusiasts
Tuesday, Sept. 30
Barrel Exploration: Round Out Your Pilates Practice 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
During this workshop, we will dive into traditional Pilates and some not so traditional vocabulary on the Spine Corrector, Ladder Barrel and Baby Barrel. We will look at how their shapes round out the linear exercises in Pilates and give us access to the body in ways that other pieces of equipment cannot.
In equipment sessions, the barrels can be a short addendum to a workout, but, after this workshop, you will see how an entire workout can be done on a barrel and even be improved as a result. We will explore the barrels’ unique shapes and demonstrate how it can be utilized to challenge and align the spine for a variety of students.
Lunch break 12 p.m. – 1 p.m.
Wednesday, Oct. 1
From The Feet 9:00 – 12 p.m.
The health of our feet is critically important, yet rarely discussed. Blossom will share the techniques she has curated over the years to strengthen, realign and stretch the feet. The movements come from her own teaching experience, Kathy Grant and other Pilates teachers.
In this workshop, you will see how the feet are the structural foundation for our knees and hips. We will use our eyes, hands, balls, towels and pads to connect to the feet while investigating their role in balance and strength. We will also examine how the feet play a role in traditional Pilates exercises on equipment like the Reformer, Wunda Chair, Cadillac and Barrels in addition to learning strategies for how to better incorporate the feet into your everyday Pilates teaching.
Lunch break 12 p.m. – 1 p.m.
