My Experience As A New Student

I found Studio Flo Pilates on Yelp last year, took my first class in June and have been trying to train consistently twice a week ever since.

Keri BridgwaterAfter moving to San Diego in 2009 I spent three years taking STOTT Pilates classes so learning the traditional method has been a fun but challenging experience. Jennie and her team were welcoming and super inclusive since day one! I love the encouraging and educational environment––well communicated and informative cueing really helps me understand how I should be moving, where exercises should originate from in my body and why. Fellow students are friendly too… I’m always impressed by the age range of folks I see training here and how many longstanding clients there are, which I think it says a lot about any business.

In addition to the top instruction, another thing I appreciate about Studio Flo is being able to take classes on each individual piece of equipment. I’ve always loved the chair, but in the past felt other instructors often favored the reformer so it got overlooked. On days I’m feeling tired/unable to hang in one of Jennie’s a$$ kicking reformer or mat classes I like taking tower. Having this variety is great and the same goes for levels. I’ve dabbled in a couple of Laetitia’s Bridge to Intermediate Reformer classes (with mixed results!) but appreciate having the option to dip my toe in a harder class when I feel up for it. I love being a student here and even on days when I come in and feel like I suck, I’m always inspired training here—especially when I see the advanced tower group on Sunday morning and think to myself… one day -maybe- that could be me! #goals
